News Release: ACEC-Ontario welcomes new Director, Government and Stakeholder Relations

Mississauga, Ontario (October 17, 2022) – The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) has brought aboard Doug DeRabbie to fill the recently vacant role of Director, Government and Stakeholder Relations.

Doug DeRabbie joined ACEC-Ontario on September 26th, 2022, filling a role that was previously held by David Zurawel who left to join member firm, SNC Lavalin. DeRabbie will be responsible for advocacy and stakeholder relations initiatives, ensuring member firms are represented with a strong voice with government, stakeholders and affiliated organizations.

“We are very fortunate to have landed someone of Doug’s calibre for this critical role,” stated Bruce G. Matthews, Executive Director, ACEC-Ontario. “I am confident that his skill set and experience will take our external relationships to the next level.  I look forward to his contributions in furthering the mission of ACEC-Ontario.”

Doug began his career working for a Member of Parliament in Ottawa. Since then, he has worked for Natural Resources Canada and Infrastructure Ontario, where he was instrumental in setting up the agency’s stakeholder relations strategy and consultations on its procurement documents. He has also held senior roles in various trade associations, including the Council of Ontario Construction Associations, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, the Retail Council of Canada, and the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Doug has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both in Political Science, from Western University.
