We exist to promote and advance the business interests of our Member Firms and the value of the engineering work they do.
Founded in 1975, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario is an association that advocates for a business and regulatory climate in the interests of our members in Ontario.
Upon fulfillment of our 2020-2023 strategic plan, we now have a new name, brand, digital platform, including website, a more comprehensive advocacy plan and more programs, networks and chapters than we previously had. We now face the 2023-2026 plan with as much enthusiasm, evolving as the times require. We will set out to be thought-leaders, to be stronger advocates for our industry making new connections, promoting consulting engineering as a profession and creating educational and networking programs for our membership.
We represent approximately 140 consulting engineering firms that employ nearly 25,000 Ontarians. Member firms range in size from sole proprietorships to large multinational engineering firms. Our member firms provide a wide range of professional engineering services to government and private sector clients. As a sector, the accumulated gross revenues of engineering service firms across the country contribute north of $28 billion to the Canadian economy annually and nearly $10 billion to the Ontario economy.
ACEC-Ontario is a member organization of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada (ACEC-Canada) and International Federation for Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). When a company joins ACEC-Ontario, it automatically joins the ACEC-Canada and FIDIC.

ACEC-Ontario represents our collective and diverse industry with a goal to improve the business environment for consulting engineering in Ontario. Our Association drives effective change through targeted advocacy in areas of policy, legislation, and procurement/contracting issues.
