ACEC-Ontario Unveils 2023-2024 Board of Directors

ACEC-Ontario held their annual general meeting which included an election to fill six positions on the Board.

Mississauga, ON (September 15, 2022) – The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) proudly announces the appointment of its 2023-2024 Board of Directors. The annual general meeting (AGM) took place on September 14, 2023, and encompassed insightful contributions from industry stakeholders, board perspectives, and an election to fill six (6) positions on the 2023 Board of Directors.

Guiding the ship as the 2023-2024 Chair of the Board is Don Holland, P.Eng. Holland, also the GHD Canadian Water Market Leader, boasts an impressive 20-year journey encompassing wastewater process engineering, organics management, construction, and project management. Don’s extensive technical proficiency shines through various roles, including project director, senior process design engineer, and quality assurance (QA) manager.

With over a decade of involvement with ACEC-Ontario, Mr. Holland has actively contributed to rebranding initiatives, leadership transitions, and the digital transformation of the Association.

Holland remarked, “As we continue to execute the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, our industry’s immense potential for growth and innovation is evident. Our responsibility as industry stewards entails proactive advocacy, but it must be complemented by robust engagement. Together, we’ll foster a vibrant community that thrives on idea-sharing, peer learning, and mentorship opportunities.”

The recently concluded election yielded a mix of fresh faces and experienced minds in the realm of engineering. The six newly elected members are:

  • Domenica D’Amico, WSP Canada
  • Matthew Eades, Associated Engineering
  • Ryan Matthews, J.L. Richards & Associates Limited
  • Derek Potvin, Robinson Consultants Inc.
  • Valery Woloshyn, Stantec Consulting Ltd

Andrew Hurd, ACEC-Ontario’s Executive Director, states, “As we embark on an exciting new chapter at ACEC-Ontario, I am thrilled to work with the 2023-2024 Board of Directors. Our Association’s strength lies in its dynamic leadership, and we are particularly excited to welcome a few fresh faces to the fold. The infusion of new perspectives and ideas is essential for our continued growth and relevance in the ever-evolving landscape of consulting engineering.”

ACEC-Ontario extends its heartfelt appreciation to both returning and newly appointed board directors for their steadfast commitment to the organization and the consulting engineering industry at large. Special recognition is reserved for departing board members Joe Sframeli, Past Chair, and Directors, Chris Metaxas and Steve Pilgrim, whose dedication has been instrumental in the evolution of ACEC-Ontario.
