Sadly, my term has come to an end as the Chair of ACEC-Ontario.

As an industry, as people, and as a society, we have dealt with a vast amount of change and challenge. Last year, and the year prior, it was dealing with the challenges of the pandemic and the historic spin off of related issues. As an industry, we are seeing great opportunities, that also come with a set of obstacles.

Ontario Parliament Returns for Summer Session: Speaker Elected, Throne Speech Sets Ford Government Tone, Budget Re-Introduced

Ontario’s 43^rd session of provincial parliament kicked-off this week with a brisk agenda. Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) returned Monday to elect a new speaker in 32-year veteran, Ted Arnott of Wellington-Halton Hills. Mr. Arnott served as speaker from 2018-2022 and was re-elected by his peers, defeating caucus mate (and the Premier’s rumored preferred candidate) Nina Tangri from Mississauga-Streetsville.

Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet has been sworn-in, and preparations are underway for the provincial government to begin its second mandate with the new fall legislative session.  Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet has been sworn-in, and preparations are underway for the provincial government to begin its second mandate with the new fall legislative session. While the legislature is scheduled to return September 12^th, the government has indicated it will convene a brief summer session of the legislature to pass the provincial budget.

Ontario Elects Ford Conservatives to Second Mandate – NDP And Liberal Leaders Resign

Last night Doug Ford’s Ontario PC Party (PC) was elected to a second majority government in a contest that resulted in both New Democrat (NDP) Leader, Andrea Horwath, and Ontario Liberal (OLP) Leader, Steven Del Duca, resigning their posts.
