Last week, the Ontario government introduced the Building More Mines Act, 2023. According to the press release, the government is looking to change the Mining Act in order to “attract more investment in the province’s mining sector”.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) is proposing to amend the On-Site and Excess Soil Regulation. These amendments concern the requirements for low-risk projects and storing excess soil. ACEC-Ontario asks members to review the proposed amendments and provide any feedback they may have by November 30, 2022.

On November 14th, the Finance Minister, Peter Bethlenfalvy, delivered the government’s annual Fall Economic Statement, providing an update on several programs and initiatives. Minister Bethlenfalvy also announced targeted new measures to address economic growth, labour shortages, and small business costs.

Last night Doug Ford’s Ontario PC Party (PC) was elected to a second majority government in a contest that resulted in both New Democrat (NDP) Leader, Andrea Horwath, and Ontario Liberal (OLP) Leader, Steven Del Duca, resigning their posts.

The 338Canada project is a statistical model of electoral projections based on opinion polls, electoral history, and demographic data. This website is a creation of Philippe J. Fournier, physics and astrophysics professor at Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montreal.
