Ontario’s new 2024 Building Code (OBC), effective January 1, 2025, introduces significant updates. EABO has prepared an infographic to illustrate how some Ontario municipalities may be addressing the transition between the 2012 OBC and the 2024 version, including submission for permit under the 2012 OBC after December 31, 2024.
EABO, comprising key organizations such as the OAA, OBOA, OLMCBO, ACEC-Ontario, and the City of Toronto Building Department, advocates for a consistent transition approach but advises Architects and Engineers to confirm requirements with local municipalities to avoid delays.
