Christine Hill, formerly Consulting Engineers of Ontario’s (CEO) Board of Directors’ Chair Elect steps into the role of Chair as Jeremy Carkner steps down to pursue a career path in a different industry. CEO appreciates the positive contributions Carkner has made over the years to the association and the industry.
Hill is highly regarded in the field due to her activity in a number of industry associations and brings 29 years of engineering experience to the role. For the majority of her career, Hill held a number of progressive roles with XCG Consulting Limited – beginning as a Project Engineer her role evolved into Partner in 2005. In 2017, COLE Engineering Group acquired XCG’s Water Business and Hill became the Business Development Leader for Infrastructure Planning at COLE. She has also held a number of board positions with the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) culminating in a term as Chair at WEAO. Hill has been actively involved with CEO for the past five years chairing a number of committees and is completing her second term on the board.
Her plans for CEO are to stay on course with the roadmap already established and move forward with the organization’s strategic goals: shaping public policy, regulation and legislation in the interest of our members; achieving a favourable procurement and business environment; and promoting the investment of member resources. “CEO offers its members the opportunity to be heard on issues impacting them which are voiced through CEO’s government relations services, including the Rapid Response service which addresses procurement issues raised by member firms in a timely manner,” states Hill.
Under Hill’s leadership, CEO will remain committed to achieving the objectives outlined in CEO’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan. She will work with the Board, CEO’s Chief Executive Officer and Directors to develop and implement a new Strategic Plan that will define the association in future years.
CEO looks forward to Hill’s guidance during her term. Her passion and dedication to CEO and the industry has made her a valuable asset. CEO is confident Hill will have a pronounced impact during her time as Chair.
