Mississauga, Ontario – June 6, 2023 – The Board of Directors of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) is very pleased to announce that Andrew Hurd has been selected as the Association’s next Executive Director. Andrew is currently the Director, Policy & Stakeholder Relations at the Ontario Road Builders Association (ORBA), a position he has held since October 2017. Andrew’s prior experience includes over 12 years with the Government of Ontario in a variety of roles, including advisory and senior advisory capacities with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs, and the Office of the Premier.

Andrew has been known to ACEC-Ontario for several years as one of ORBA’s representatives within the Construction & Design Alliance of Ontario.  In his role at ORBA, he established relationships with many of the public-sector infrastructure agencies that are key to ACEC-Ontario, including MTO, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario. He is also an accomplished communicator, writing all of ORBA’s government submissions and numerous remarks for member executives of ORBA, and preparing and delivering major presentations during ORBA’s President’s Tours.

ACEC-Ontario looks forward to Andrew’s contributions in implementing the Board’s new Strategic Plan, which was approved earlier this year, and his engagement with our members, stakeholders, volunteers, and Allies. Andrew commences his role at ACEC-Ontario on July 24. Our current Executive Director, Bruce Matthews, will be staying on until that time to ensure a smooth transition.
