Hello ACEC-Ontario community!
I am incredibly honoured to step into the role of Chair for ACEC-Ontario for the 2024-2025 term. As someone who has been deeply involved with the Association for many years, this position holds a special significance for me. This year is particularly meaningful as we celebrate ACEC-Ontario’s 50th anniversary, marking a major milestone for the organization. It also represents a continuation of the Tulloch family legacy; my father, Mike Tulloch, was an active member who served on the Board of Directors decades ago. Now, I have the privilege of following in his footsteps, contributing to the evolution of an organization that has been a cornerstone of our industry. I am fortunate to witness the changes not only in the industry but in the advancement of ACEC-Ontario to what it is today.
For those who may not know me well, I have spent my career immersed in the consulting engineering field. Growing up in this industry, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact that our work has on society. I’ve witnessed the ways in which our community of professionals builds relationships, offers specialized expertise, and solves some of the most complex challenges our clients face. The work we do as consulting engineers is vital to the development and sustainability of our communities, and I am committed to driving innovation, excellence, and progress within our profession.
Our purpose statement at TULLOCH is “to build an organization where everyone loves their job and their leaders care for them”, which is inspired by my father’s origin story when he started the organization. This year, I am focused on continuing to foster a “people-first” culture within the Association, a philosophy that we continue to live by at TULLOCH, and one that I believe is essential for the continued success of our industry.
We will continue to expand the Association’s advocacy efforts, which can only be done with ACEC-Ontario volunteers. Proudly, we stand at over 150+ volunteers, the largest group to date, as we are stronger together. I am grateful for the passion and commitment each one of you brings to the ACEC-Ontario table.
My vision for the year ahead is centered on unity and community. I believe in the power of coming together to share knowledge, build strong connections, and support one another. I look forward to getting out and engaging with the ACEC-Ontario community across Ontario, strengthening the bonds that tie us together, and ensuring that our industry continues to thrive.
Let’s come together to celebrate our rich history, support each other in the present, and look ahead to a bright future. Thank you for your continued dedication and support—I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together!
