Toronto, Ontario (September 13th, 2022) – As part of their first ever full-day Forum, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) recognized the dedication of their volunteers with their inaugural Volunteer Awards Program.
Participants and allies of the consulting engineering industry and ACEC-Ontario attended the first “Engineering Means Business” Forum on September 13th, held in Toronto, Ontario. During the day’s events volunteers, which were nominated and subsequently assessed on four categories, received awards for their dedication to the consulting engineering industry and the Association. The program featured awards for:
ACEC-Ontario Chair’s Award – Presented to a deserving ACEC-Ontario member volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the association over the course of the ACEC-Ontario outgoing Board of Director Chair’s term as Chair and/or Chair-Elect.
Distinguished Service Award – Recognizing an individual who has made distinguished and enduring contributions to the association for 10+ years.
Emerging Leader Award – Acknowledges one ACEC-Ontario young professional volunteer who, within the first five years of volunteering with ACEC-Ontario, has demonstrated remarkable promise as a future leader and community-builder in the consulting engineering industry.
Pinnacle Award – Distinguishes one ACEC-Ontario volunteer for their exceptional leadership in their volunteer role at ACEC-Ontario.
The awards winners are as follows:
ACEC-Ontario Chair’s Award – Mark Tulloch, TULLOCH Engineering Inc. Tulloch is currently the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, the Treasurer for the ACEC-Ontario Board of Directors and a Committee Member of the Governance Committee.
Distinguished Service – Edson Donnelly, Novatech Engineering Consultants Inc. Donnelly is currently a Director of the ACEC-Ontario Ottawa Chapter, a Member of the City of Ottawa Liaison Committee, and a NCHCA Representative for ACEC-Ontario.
Emerging Leader – Julianna Arcese, IBI Group. Arcese is the Young Professional Lead for the ACEC-Ontario Grand River Chapter and a Member of the Future Leaders Network.
Pinnacle Award – Ryan Matthews, J.L. Richards & Associates Ltd. Matthews is currently a Director on the ACEC-Ontario Board of Directors, a Committee Member of the City of Ottawa Liaison Committee, and the Past Chair of the ACEC-Ontario Ottawa Chapter.
ACEC-Ontario would like to recognize the efforts of nearly 180 volunteers that make the important work of the Association possible. ACEC-Ontario features volunteers through it’s volunteer spotlight’s periodically throughout the year.
Lastly, ACEC-Ontario would like to thank the support of the 2022 judges that helped consider the nominations submitted to determine the ultimate award recipients.
