Mississauga, ON (September 14, 2021) – Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) held its first annual general meeting as ACEC-Ontario and its second online annual general meeting in the wake of the pandemic. An election was held and the 2021 Board of Directors that will lead the organization forward over the governing year was introduced.
The election results concluded with Karen Freund, Jacobs, being voted in for her second term and Tom Halpenny, H.H. Angus & Associates Limited Consulting Engineers, for his first term.
Joe Sframeli, P.Eng., Executive Vice President – Transportation & Infrastructure, WSP Canada, will serve as the 2021-2022 Chair. Joe has been a practicing engineer since 1991, with more than 32 years of professional experience managing a wide variety of linear infrastructure and land development projects and has extensive experience in all aspects of complex infrastructure work for both private developers and public agencies. He has a long-standing volunteer relationship with ACEC-Ontario and is ready to hit the ground running in his new role. “I am excited at the opportunity to be the Chair to the ACEC-Ontario Board of Directors. I have the passion and experience to elevate ACEC-Ontario’s profile and provide insights on new policies and initiatives. The engineering profession plays a critical role in our society’s foundation and enriches the quality of people’s lives in communities across Ontario. We need to be leaders and assist our public officials in making informed decisions.” shared Mr. Sframeli.
