Meet Speaker: Jen Kelly, Founder, New Initiatives Marketing Inc. (NIM)

Jen Kelly is the founder and leader of New Initiatives Marketing Inc. (NIM), a marketing firm that partners with growing Canadian and American B2B companies that secure work through competitive processes like RFPs. With over 17 years of marketing experience before founding NIM in 2009, Jen honed her skills at tier-one organizations, including the Financial Times UK, Siemens, and Motorola. Drawing from this background, she has built NIM to provide tailored marketing strategies that help smaller businesses compete effectively and thrive in today’s demanding market.


Afternoon Session: Engaging EDI: Building Inclusive Teams and Workplaces (Hybrid)

This talk draws from a survey of over 600 consulting engineers and architects, alongside industry research, to explore how supporting EDI can impact workplace culture, leadership, and business success. We’ll discuss the current state of EDI within professional services firms and delve into the challenges and opportunities in creating more inclusive environments.

Through relatable examples and actionable strategies, you’ll learn how EDI principles can strengthen employee engagement, enhance leadership practices, and align with your firm’s objectives. The session will be focused on what will be useful for small, owner-led consulting engineering firms.

Meet Speaker: Russell Pollard (he/him), MBA

Russell is a frequent speaker in the AEC sector on topics of workplace culture & leadership, marketing & business development, and equity, diversity & inclusion. He has supported several consulting engineering and architecture firms improve how they lead their businesses and people. Russell has a Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Leadership, and Certificates in leadership and inclusion.
